ABOUT

An independent heart risk tool, held to clinical guidelines.

What HeartRiskCalc is

HeartRiskCalc is a free tool that estimates your 10-year risk of a first heart attack or stroke using the 2013 ACC/AHA Pooled Cohort Equations — the same math embedded in most U.S. clinical decision support systems. We built it because the existing calculators are either buried inside physician-facing sites or wrapped in healthcare-company sign-ups that leak your health data.

Nothing you type is transmitted or stored. The calculation runs entirely in your browser.

Our editorial standard

Who's behind it

HeartRiskCalc is built and maintained by a small independent team. We are not licensed medical professionals, and the site is not reviewed by a physician. What we do instead: the calculator implements the 2013 ACC/AHA ASCVD Pooled Cohort Equations exactly as published, and every article cites its clinical claims to a primary source (AHA, Mayo Clinic, CDC, peer-reviewed journals). If we ever add a physician reviewer, this page will name them here. For corrections or questions, see the contact page.

How we're funded

HeartRiskCalc is funded by unobtrusive display advertising. We do not accept sponsored content, do not sell user data (there is none to sell), and do not take money from pharmaceutical or device companies. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
